Lessons Learned
From our own installation experience, here are three key points for making a successful installation of your Toilet Support Kits.
- Organize: Know which toilets require the jacks and what their heights are (if they are of vairous heights). Write the location on the boxes of the odd sizes. Plan your installation time to minimize interference with hospital activities
- Clean: Your Environmental Services people work hard, but the underside of toilets rarely get the white glove inspection. Assume they are not clean. Use the scwab included in the kit to prepare a remove anything which will interfere with a good adhesion. Wear gloves and, if possible, a disposable Personal Protection suit (or, at least, something you can change out of after installation)
- Wait: Be patient. The silicon adhesive needs to set. Put the toilet out of service for as long as you can, up to 24 hours
