First, Do No Harm

The exam table is a regular fixture in physicans' offices, oncology clinics, and in some departments in hospitals (i.e., Admitting or Same Day Surgery). Because the procedure of getting on and off the table is so common, we forget to analyze the ergonomics involved and therefore overlook the hazards of lifting or repositioning the patient. A power assisted table can mean the difference between a healthy back and a strained one working limited duty.
