Creating Room for Patients with Customized Medical Recliners

TSK Products was invited to demonstrate the features of a medical recliner to an oncology clinic whose main concern was space. Though the recliner provided the requirements (Trendelenberg, swingout arms, comfort over a five hour treatment, mobility, etc.) and the Nurse Manager agreed it was the best for her facility, she still needed to reduce the operating footprint of the recliner once the patient was in the seat. She requested that we make the side tables like lecture hall tablet arms. Because the clinic was opening in eight weeks, the tablet arm design, mechanism, and manufacturing had to be established in a very short time.

TSK Products worked with the manufacturer to find solutions which would work with their particular recliner design and construction materials. Once delivered, the Nurse Manager was able to add more recliners and therefore see more patients than she could have with a standard side table design.
